An unforgettable photographer experience in the land of ice and fire

Iceland – the „land of ice and fire” – is one of the most spectacularplaces in the world. It is one of the first on every person’s list who loves to take pictures. This diverse selection of landscapes and natural phenomena cannot see elsewhere. In these eight days, we will discover this special world.
On our tour, our photography destinations range from glaciersthrough cascading waterfalls to black sand beaches with randomly placed blue ice fragments.
During the tour („midnight sun”) there will be the most beautiful lights and colors that can’t be experienced anywhere else on Earth.

Tour attractions

Our tour focuses on the south-west and south of the island where most fantastic photography sites are located. At this time of year, it’s the most beautiful and greenest nature, warmest weather, longest days. Iceland is a mysterious, unique, enchanted island with almost no Earthly characteristics. This statement is not exaggerated at all, since Apollo astronauts have also been sent to Iceland for training; according to the program’s geologist, here on Earth, the inner regions of Iceland are the most similar to the Moon. When Neil Armstrong successfully returned from the Apollo 11 space mission, he was asked what it was like to walk on the Moon, to which he replied that it was exactly like Iceland. In the land of fire and ice not only natural wonders but also culture, people and local traditions amaze visitors. Iceland has a total population of 320,000. This country is the only where no mosquitoes exist.

Tour description: Iceland photo tour

Day 1.

Traveling to Reykjavik and meeting with the team in hotel Hafnarskogur. Take a short sightseeing tour. We make our accommodation cozy and take photos in nearby areas.

Day 2.

Our plan is to take pictures in the bright night, so our second day begins under the cover of night. Our destinations are Kirkjufell, Arnarstapi and photo points in the west of the island.

Day 3.

The planned location of our tour is Hraunfossar, a series of waterfalls. The waterfalls are located along the path of streams and watercourses starting from an altitude of 900 meters. Our next stop is the Öxaráfoss Fall on the Öxará River from Almannagjá in Iceland's Þingvellir National Park. Waterfall photography is the last stop of our day in Gullfoss. The waterfall is one of the most popular tourist attractions on the island. The Hvítá River arrives wide to the first level of the waterfall, where it continues its journey in a narrow creek, falling 11 meters and almost 21 meters immediately thereafter.

Day 4.

Our first stop is Kerid Crater. The crater is filled with water and its beautiful emerald green colour offers a great photo theme. With Gjáin waterfall, we will continue to enrich our waterfall photo gallery, and we will see a very special view. The closing attraction of our day is the Haifoss Waterfall. With a fall of 122 meters, it is one of the highest waterfalls in Iceland. It is located in southern Iceland, near the Hekla volcano.

Day 5.

The tripod plays an important role in photo shoots, as the waterfalls provide even more spectacular shots with long shutter speeds. We will also learn this technique, and there will be plenty of opportunity to practice. During the night, we will visit the following waterfalls: Gljufrabui, Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss. Planned destinations include the iconic Solheimasandur aircraft wreck. After a busy day, we move to our new accommodation to start exploring the southeast of the island the next day.

Day 6.

We take aim at Fjadrargljufur Canyon as we get from our comfortable accommodation. Our destination after the canyon is Dyrhólaey. The view from Dyrhólaey is spectacular, to the north is the Mýrdalsjökull glacier and in the east there are black lava columns of Reynisdrangar. Opposite the peninsula, black lava forms a natural rock arch.

Day 7.

On this day, our cameras will be desperately needed, and our Diamond Beach and Stokksnes locations are so visionary that we want to take pictures of every detail. We return to our accommodation, enriched with experiences and wonderful pictures, have dinner and analyze pictures.

Day 8.

On the last day of the tour we return to Reykjavik and we will say goodbye to Iceland and to the Best Photo Tour team.

In order to get the best photos possible during the tour, it is sometimes necessary to make sacrifices. There may be unexpected events – weather changes and other environmental factors – that override the planned program. For us, participants’ safety is of the utmost importance: if a program is cancelled or delayed, it will only be to provide the best possible experience.

If, due to an unexpected event, a program cannot be completed at all at the announced time, the tour guide will try to reorganize and regroup the programs.

The most important thing for the organizers is to have fun, but the final decision is theirs and must be followed by all participants.

Good health is a prerequisite for travelling. Serious cardiovascular problems, nervous and mental disorders can be disqualifying factors. Consult your doctor if your personal condition requires it.

Would you like to take professional photos too?

Our guides will show you what to do and how to do it. We deal with everyone individually. We adapt to the circumstances. If the weather or the lighting conditions are inadequate, we will return to photographing the subject in the most appropriate conditions. One thing is for sure: thanks to the memory card in our camera (not to mention ours), the memory of travel will be with us forever.
